Dr.Muhammad Jamil Afaqi , Additional Auditor General-II


Muhammad J. Afaqi (Ph.D.) belongs to 1987 batch of Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service. Before slotting in the present assignment, he was serving as Chief Instructor at National Management College (NMC) of National School of Public Policy. Earlier he also served as the Director General of Government Audit for the province of Punjab, General Manager SMEDA, and Senior Financial Analyst PEPCO. In 2010 he was awarded Fulbright scholarship for doctoral studies in Public Policy at George Mason University USA. His doctoral dissertation “The Effect of Culture on the Workings of Bureaucracy” combines insights and tools of symbolic anthropology and phenomenology to develop “cultural-cognitive” accounts of national audit organizations of USA and Pakistan in a comparative light. He got an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Oxford Brookes University UK in 1997 and a Certification for Internal  Auditing from IIA USA in 2001.
