An efficient and well qualified bureaucracy has
always been important for good governance in Pakistan and
therefore the Government is putting more emphasis on capacity
building of the civil servants to ensure improvement in
the working of the Government departments. The economic/financial
reforms, which form part of the overall Civil Service Reforms,
include among other reforms, the renowned Project for Improvement
of Financial Reporting and Auditing (PIFRA) with the assistance
