International
Activities
The SAI of Pakistan has the distinction of serving on
the board of UN Auditors for 15 years (1961-76).Presently
it has been appointed as the External Auditor of the Organization
for the prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OWPC) for 2003-05.
The SAI also remained the External Auditor of the preparatory
Commission of OPCW for four years. It also has the experience
of Auditing regional organization like SAARC, OIC, and
ECO.
The SAI of Pakistan is an active member of INTOSAI,ASOSAI,
ECOSAI, ICGFM,ISAR and its personnel have served on various
committees of these bodies. The SAI has organized several
international events including.
-
Four joint PAK- China seminars on financial auditing
since 1989.
-
International seminar on “Revenue Auditing”
in 1993 with participants from 10 SAIs.
-
International seminar on “Auditing Foreign Aid
Effectiveness and Accountability” in 1994 with
participants form 18 SAIs.
-
ICGFM international conference on Public Pri8vate Partnership
for Economic development in 1995 with 250 delegates
including expect from World Bank IMF and UNDP.
-
16th conference of the Auditors-General of the commonwealth
in 1996.
-
ASOSAI sponsored workshop on “Performance audit
of a Revenue Agency” is planned for December 2003.

Under various training programmes offered by the SAI
of Pakistan, during the last 10 years over one hundred
participants from 16 countries have received training.
Some of our international courses are listed in the
IDI Directory of courses. Our next intensive training
programme (ITP) has been announced for March,2004.
The
SAI of Pakistan is the permanent Secretariat of ECOSAI
an organization of the SAIs of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan,
Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan,
Uzbekistan and Pakistan. 6th Congress of ECOSAI is planned
for January 2004 in Islamabad.
The SAI of Pakistan has signed MOUs for mutual cooperation
with SAIs of Bangladesh, China, Turkey and Netherlands.
