  • Aiming Towards Achieving PIFRA Goals With Precision By
    Accountant General Office Punjab


    Moreover, efforts are made to synchronize the activation of Roll-out & Replication Sites. The officers/officials of DAOs are trained in HR & FI component of SAP/R3. A training session comprising of two weeks was arranged for HR component starting from Feb 16th to March 2nd 2006. While training for FI component started from 9th to 23 March 2006 at AATI.
    Apart from this, the World Bank review mission had an exhaustive visit to the Finance Department and the office of the Accountant General Punjab on January 25-26, 2006 respectively.

    The mission was briefed on the performance of SAP/R3 and the new Server on these two sites. The data was successfully migrated to new HP UX Servers by Siemens & the Basis Team of PIFRA SAP CC. The World Bank mission appreciated the efforts of PIFRA II project. The Finance Department briefed the mission that the annual Budget preparation in Punjab is in the process by Medium Term Budgetary Framework. Moreover, District Account Offices are interlinked with Accountant General office Punjab and Finance Department on behalf of the pilot project.

    Another visit was conducted by Governor Punjab Lt General (Rtd) Khalid Maqbool to the office of the Accountant General Punjab on March 15, 2006. Earlier on arrival, the Controller General of Accounts Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad Khan and Accountant General Mr. Naimat Ullah Abid received the Honourable Guest. The Governor inspected the PIFRA site and inaugurated the Pension Module, being implemented in Accountant General office Punjab on experimental basis.

    The Governor lauded the efforts of Pakistan Audit Department and PIFRA Directorate having successfully completed Phase I of PIFRA and for launching PIFRA II. He also appreciated the efforts made by the office of Accountant General Punjab for timely and expeditious processing of Pension Cases through the pension Module.
