Achievements of Regional Directorate PIFRA Quetta
Regional Directorate PIFRA Quetta has made untiring efforts to meet the milestones as set out in PC-I of the project. Significant progress has been achieved in terms of site development and provision of computer hardware despite serious constraints.
Project Management
Priority Site Development
Site development at Sibi, Chaman, Dhaddar, Mustung, Kalat, and Pishin has been completed. Computer equipment has been procured for these sites and training of the Treasury Officers and staff has been started from July 21, 2008. Partial implementation of FABS will be initiated in these sites from September 2008. Civil work of the remaining sites 5 sites will be completed by November 2008. LAN and WAN works have also been started in these sites have also been started in these sites from August 1, 2008.
Audit Sites Development
Audit Competency Centre, comprising of a server with 5 workstations and allied equipment has been established on first floor of the Regional Directorate Office. The Centre will be manned by audit specialists working on computerized auditing. The site was inaugurated by Mr. Shabbir Ahmed Dahar, Project Director PIFRA, on July 3, 2008.
Up-gradation of five field offices of District Audit have been completed. The development work includes provision of two computers, furniture & equipment, generator, and air-conditioner. The aim of this up-gradation is to allow efficient performance of the field (district) offices for implementation of the Financial Audit Manual.
Construction of Audit & Academy Complex at Quetta.
First phase of demotion of old building of the Audit & Accounts Academy Quetta has been completed. Contract for construction of Audit Complex has been awarded at a cost of Rs. 194,445,231/- and the work on the foundation has already been started. Contract for demolition of the main building has already been awarded and the work will be initiated by August 20, 2008.
Capacity Building
The Regional Directorate has planned localized training of professional in SAP. Besides, training sessions for capacity building of DDOs and Treasury Officers have been started from July 21, 2008.
FABS
The assignment to upload the historical data of GP fund and pension of the employees of Quetta from manual record to SAP/R3 system is expected to be completed by December 31, 2008.
AG office Balochistan has so far recorded data of 10182 pensioners on SAPR/3 while 14533 credits of GP Fund have been brought from ledgers to excel sheets and 8233 GP Fund credits have been uploaded on SAP R/3. AGPR sub-office Quetta has entered 23,018 cases of pensioners and GP Fund into Excel. The compiled data has been transported to Siemens for uploading on SAP. |
