NWFP– The First Province to
have An Automated Accounting System
NWFP has put in a lot of efforts and
persistence in meeting its targets within the due time
frame. No doubt all provinces in their respective areas
are also putting in all their efforts and energy towards
accomplishing their goals but NWFP is ahead of them all.
A lot many activities have taken place in pursuance to
PIFRA in NWFP, irrespective of the conditions prevailing
in some of the areas. The leftover three manual sites
of the District Accounts Offices-Kohistan, Battagram and
Chitral– were the last of the replication sites
in AG, NWFP and their productivity task was tough and
challenging because of its remoteness and adverse weather
conditions. The team moving to and from Chitral had to
wait for days for clearance of snow-blocked Lowari tops.
On their last visit to Chitral, the team members had to
cross the snow-blocked Lowari on foot and walk for miles
before reaching a place where they could hire transport.
These brave men, with their sheer dedication did not lose
hope and achieved what seemed to be unachievable.
In order to acknowledge the meritorious services of these
brave men, an inauguration ceremony took place at AG,
NWFP Complex Peshawar on December 14, 2006 in which the
Auditor General of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Younis Khan
(Guest of Honour) and CGA, Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Khan acknowledged
the efforts and determination of all in achieving the
targets. The ceremony was also attended by the Senior
Provincial and Federal Bureaucrats as well as by the entire
team of W.B Mission who expressed satisfaction over the
progress made by the site offices of AG, NWFP, EDO (F&P)
and Finance Department NWFP. NWFP has become a role model
for the rest of the provinces and have clearly demonstrated
that “Nothing is hard to achieve unless there is
dedication, perseverance and willingness to do so.”
