Provincial Audit Wing headed by the Deputy Auditor General (Provincial Audit) is facilitating Auditor General of Pakistan for accomplishing mandate prescribed in Article 168 to 171 of the Constitution of Pakistan with regard to Audit of Provincial Govts and autonomous/semi autonomous organizations.  The key function of the Wing include, overall supervision of field audit offices (FAO) with regard to review of Audit Plan and various Reports relating to certification of appropriation and finance accounts/financial statements.  Regularity Audit Reports, Revenue Receipts and expenditure Audit Reports, Special Audit Reports, Performance Audit Reports, Audit Reports on Foreign Aided Projects, and PSDP’s projects.  Presently following six field audit office are within the jurisdiction of Provincial Audit Wing.

• DG Audit, Punjab, Lahore
• DG Audit, Balochistan, Quetta
• DG Audit, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
• DG Audit, AJ&K, Muzzafarabad
• DG Audit, Works (Provincial), Lahore

In addition to the administrative matters of FAOs circulation of policies, instructions guidelines received from Auditor General of Pakistan and other wings of AGP office etc is also dealt with.

Periodical reports, returns and important feed back in puts are obtained from FAOs for onward transmission to concerned quarters.

DAG (PA) is assisted by a Director whose responsibilities are as under:-

• Reviw of Audit Plans, Regularity Audit Reports, Certification/attest audit reports, revenue receipts and expenditure audit reports received from the six field offices.

• Coordination work pertaining to periodical reports, return, circulation of guidelines/instructions/polices and collection of feed back/inputs from FAOs.

• Submission of above reports to AP&SS wing for QCC-II and finally getting the reports signed by Auditor General of Pakistan prior to their submission to Governors of the Provinces, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Prime Minister of Pakistan in his capacity as Chairman AJ&K Council.

• Review of the audit reports relating to Foreign Aided Projects, Special Audit, Performance Audit, Project Audit, Special Studies and all special assignments entrusted by DAG (PA).

• Transmission of above reports to Economic Affairs Division or Quarters concerned after approval.
